Ah

Everything is running a bit better today, hopefully I will be finished by 9pm when the university closes, rather than walking home with a desire to throw final cut pro out of the window.

If that is the case I will dedicate tomorrow to updating this blog with some screen shots/images of the process and then.. finito!

It all went wrong!

It kept saying 'no memory' no matter what I tried. Followed various paths suggesterd on forums but to no avail. I then decided to try downloading after effects on my laptop, however.. exporting from final cut pro into after effects is useless, ther was no quick fix and that is what I needed.

I am now resorting to going back to an exported sequence I made last night. I have imported this into final cut pro to try once more. I've lost a few hours of work but I would rather that than lose everything!
I'll just have to divide bits up again to fix them, I hope this works!

Oh no

Tried opening the sequence in a new file so that I could try rendering and this is what I got, can't even be sure it will work...

'Out of Memory'

... the current problem I am facing, having researched this it would appear that it is very common. Desperately trying to fix this so that I can carry on!

Update

So, I'm now about 30 seconds in and renders are taking a healthy half hour, thought I may as well use this time for an update!

So far, the video begins with an aspect of kinetiv typography for the words 'We Must face Up' this then changes into a black background with the word 'FACE' cut out, a video plays behind this (that I took on the Tay Road Bridge) and as the words 'Builders, bricklayers... world' appear, faces appear behind the letters.
As the music builds and breaks a slow motion video of people playing with leaves plays until the black cut out letters appear once more, along with the words 'of the smile'. A new face appears behind the FACE letters, which flickers until it is viewed on it's own.

Progress

I have been editing for what feels like a million years, have produced 8 seconds worth.. moved files about  a bit and now it has all broken! Currently rectifying this mistake, spirits are at a low...

Over the course of editing the small part I have done the final output has changed and shifted slightly, documented in my sketchbook.

Storyboard

...vague! But a starting point for when I begin to edit tomorrow.
